Tiler Peck to Make London West End Debut in Little Dancer Musical
One of the world's most celebrated ballerinas is coming to London. New York City Ballet principal dancer Tiler Peck will make her West End debut in Little Dancer, the sweeping new musical by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty about the real girl behind Edgar Degas's most famous sculpture. Directed and choreographed by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman, the strictly limited engagement opens at the Theatre Royal Haymarket on February 15, 2027, and must close March 27.
Set against the glittering backdrop of Belle Époque Paris, Little Dancer tells the story of Marie van Goethem, a poor girl with a fierce dream of becoming a great dancer, who instead became immortal as the model for Degas's iconic sculpture. The show has played to sold-out audiences in Washington, D.C., and Seattle, and at a triumphant 2025 concert performance at London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
Peck leads a powerhouse company of Olivier nominees. Julian Ovenden (Downton Abbey) plays Degas, Laura Pitt-Pulford (Seven Brides for Seven Brothers) plays the adult Marie, and Josefina Gabrielle (Les Misérables) plays Martine.
The show reunites an extraordinary creative team. Stroman, winner of five Tony Awards and two Oliviers, is behind The Producers, Crazy for You, Contact, and Oklahoma! Ahrens (book and lyrics) and Flaherty (music), also Tony and Olivier winners, created Ragtime, Anastasia, and Once on This Island.
"Just as Degas was inspired by Marie, Marie inspired me," Stroman said. "She wanted to be a great dancer, and inadvertently, through art, became the most famous dancer in the world."
