Little Dancer – A New Musical in Concert will make its UK debut for one night only on July 27, 2025 at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, starring Tiler Peck (New York City Ballet principal and Olivier Award nominee), Julian Ovenden (South Pacific, Downton Abbey), and Laura Pitt-Pulford (Standing at the Sky's Edge).
The musical, inspired by Edgar Degas' iconic sculpture Little Dancer of Fourteen Years, tells the compelling story of Marie van Goethem, the young ballerina who posed for the famous artist before disappearing into 19th-century Paris.
Created by Tony Award-winning team Lynn Ahrens (book and lyrics) and Stephen Flaherty (music) - the powerhouse duo behind Ragtime, Anastasia, and Once on This Island - the production is directed and choreographed by five-time Tony and Olivier Award winner Susan Stroman.
"I find Little Dancer to be a life-affirming piece of theater," says Stroman. "To me, the show is beautiful, entertaining, interesting, but most importantly, profound. Marie wanted to be a great dancer, and inadvertently, through art, became the most famous dancer in the world."
Following critically acclaimed, sold-out productions in Washington, D.C. and Seattle, this concert staging brings the musical to London audiences for the first time.
